Join the fun and test your knowledge at the annual CSRC Sputum Bowl! This fast-paced, team-based competition is open to both student and practitioner teams. The student competition takes place at the CSRC State SoCal Conference held in the spring.  The practitioner competition takes place at the CSRC NorCal Conference. Compete, connect, and showcase your respiratory care expertise.

How to Register

Want to Compete?
You must compete with your respective region and the finalists of those regional competitions will earn their spot to complete at the 2026 CSRC Annual Conference. Register your team for regionals, prep with the rule book, and review past champions' tips. Each team must include at least three (3) members, with a fourth (4th) member designated as an alternate. The form will ask for a 'Captain,' who will receive all communications on behalf of the team and serve as the team’s point of contact during the competition. 

Spots are limited! Registration closes three (3) days before your scheduled regional event.
Student membership is not required for regional competition but is required for State competition.

Student Division held at the SoCal Pechanga Conference (for finals) April 29, 2026.

To compete in the CSRC Student Sputum Bowl, follow these steps:

  1. Form Your Team
    Teams must consist of at least three (3) members, with a fourth (4th) member designated as an alternate and currently enrolled respiratory care students from the same accredited program.
  2. Complete the Team Roster Form. Please include your regional contact. Find your regional contact here.

  3. Compete in the Regional Bowl (See Schedule Below).
    Regional competitions determine which teams advance to the State Finals at the 2026 CSRC Annual Conference.
  4. Advance to State Finals
    If your team qualifies, you’ll be contacted by your regional rep with next steps, including travel, lodging, and CSRC State Conference registration.

Parking: Daily permits can be purchased online at mycampuspermit.com for $1 and may be used to park in any stall, with the exception of stalls designated for the Disabled, EV Vehicle, Motorcycle, Staff, and those marked red or green. Daily permits do not need to be printed. Your license plate number will be scanned and associated with the daily permit when purchased.
